On June 18, 2020, a fatal shooting in Atlanta sparked widespread protests and calls for justice.

Rayshard Brooks, a 27-year-old African American man, was shot and killed by a police officer in a Wendy's parking lot.

Less than 24 hours after the incident, the officer, Garrett Rolfe, was fired from his position.

Rolfe faces 11 charges, including murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, in connection with Brooks' death.
