KDF Officer Arrested for Strangling Wife to Death

On June 11, 2020, Leah Oloo, a 26-year-old woman, died under mysterious circumstances at her matrimonial home in Lanet, Nakuru. Her husband, Kennedy Oloo, a Kenya Defence Forces officer, initially reported that she had committed suicide.

However, an autopsy conducted on Leah's body revealed that she had been strangled to death. The postmortem report showed that Leah had no head injuries but had a bruise on her neck and a groove on her lower neck.

According to Nakuru County Criminal Investigation Officer Michael Mwenze, Kennedy's colleagues at the Lanet Barracks arrested him and handed him over to the police after the postmortem outcome. Kennedy is currently being held in custody at the Bahati North Police Station.

Leah had reportedly indicated to her friends and family that she was leaving the three-year marriage due to her husband's obsession and refusal to let her go despite their marriage hitting a rocky edge. The couple had been trying to conceive for three years but were unsuccessful.

It is alleged that Kennedy wanted to introduce his baby mama as part of his family, but Leah refused to share their home with a co-wife. The two clashed, and Leah had set June 11 as the day she would leave her matrimonial home for her rural home in Bungoma county.

With the damning revelations surrounding Leah's death now in the open, the family is seeking justice for their kin as burial plans commence.
