June 17, 2020 - Kenya's COVID-19 cases have continued to rise, with the Ministry of Health announcing 184 new infections on Wednesday.
According to Health Chief Administrative Secretary Rashid Aman, the new cases were detected after analyzing 2,518 samples.
Of the new cases, 129 are male and 55 are female, with one of the patients being a foreigner.
The new cases have raised concerns that health facilities in the country may be overwhelmed if mitigation measures are not adhered to.
"I am therefore appealing to our people to seriously observe the containment measures, all indications are that we are entering into exponential case of our curve. Flattening the curve will enable us to deal with those cases that need critical management," Aman said.
The new cases were reported in various counties, including Nairobi, Mombasa, Kajiado, Meru, Kiambu, Busia, Nakuru, Machakos, Kwale, Vihiga, Taita Taveta, Kisumu, and Garissa.
