On June 15, 2020, Ghanaian football fraternity was left in shock after the tragic death of promising striker Ibrahim Adom, who drowned in a swimming pool in Denmark.
Adom, 20, had moved to Denmark in January 2020, joining Danish club Hobro IK after completing a three-year transfer from Ghana's lower-tier side Accra Sporting Club.
Despite having yet to make an appearance for his new club, Adom's death has sent shockwaves through the football community, with tributes pouring in from his former teammates and fans.
Fiifi Parker Hanson, a friend and former teammate, paid a heartfelt tribute to Adom, describing him as 'an uprising enterprise striker' with a sense of humour, warmth, and personality.
'I still can’t believe this, it’s just like I did not read the text well. I’m still confused and shocked,' Hanson posted on Facebook.
'The loss of Adom will be painfully felt by our club, supporters and indeed all who ever had the pleasure of knowing him. We love you Adom and your memory will eternally stay with us,' he added.
