Kenya on June 17, 2020, recorded 184 new Covid-19 cases, the highest number in a single day since the first case in March.
The new cases bring the total number of confirmed positive cases to 4,044, with 129 males and 55 females among the new cases.
Health CAS Rashid Aman attributed the surge in cases to the rising rate of infection within communities, saying, "This is the highest number recorded so far and this is mainly because the rate of infection within our communities is on the rise."

Health officials also warned against the circulation of fake Covid-19 test kits.
