Published on June 17, 2020, Donald Kipkorir, a prominent city lawyer and billionaire, has shared his journey to marriage, revealing a complicated past marked by childhood trauma.

Born in Cheptongei village, Elgeyo Marakwet county, Kipkorir was raised in a troubled family where his father mistreated his mother. This experience left a lasting impact on his life, shaping his views on marriage.

Speaking to celebrated journalist Jackson Biko, Kipkorir disclosed that his mother's unhappy marriage and his father's absence had a profound effect on his life. He stated, 'My mum didn’t have the best of marriages. My dad died about seven years ago, but he wasn’t the best father or husband.'

Despite his reluctance to marry, Kipkorir eventually tied the knot with Noni Weru in 2017 at the age of 50. The couple has a son together, and Noni has two daughters from a previous marriage.

Before marrying Noni, Kipkorir had expressed his reluctance to settle down, citing his childhood trauma as the reason. However, he eventually proposed to Noni aboard an Emirates flight in December, and the couple's wedding was a grand affair, with Kipkorir making a dramatic entrance in Nyeri town.

As a father, Kipkorir has faced challenges in being present in his children's lives, as they live with their mothers. He has, however, made an effort to stay in touch and meet with them regularly.
