On June 17, 2020, Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka made a surprise move by signing a cooperation agreement with the ruling Jubilee coalition.
The historic deal was sealed at an event held at the Jubilee offices in Pangani, Nairobi, where Mr. Kalonzo was accompanied by Kilonzo Junior, Chirau Mwakwere, and Judith Sijeny.
Notably, Jubilee's secretary-general Raphael Tuju and vice chairperson David Murathe were present during the signing, lending credibility to the agreement.
Isaac Ruto's Chama Cha Mashinani party also joined forces with Jubilee, further solidifying the coalition's grip on power.
As the dust settles, it remains to be seen how this new alliance will shape Kenya's political future.
