On June 17, 2020, Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka and his Chama Cha Mashinani (CCM) counterpart Isaac Ruto signed a post-poll deal with the ruling Jubilee Party, amidst claims of a looming Cabinet reshuffle by President Uhuru Kenyatta.

The deal was signed at the Jubilee Party Headquarters in Nairobi, where Kalonzo was spotted alongside Chirau Ali Mwakwere, Chepalungu MP Gideon Kosgey of CCM, and Bundotich Buzeki.

Just minutes before the press conference conducted by Jubilee Party Secretary-General, Raphael Tuju, the Wiper Party flag was placed right next to the ruling party's own, symbolising the new pact.

According to a statement sent out by the ruling party's communication team, Jubilee Party SG Raphael Tuju would address the press at the Jubilee Party Headquarters at 2 p.m. on June 17, 2020, accompanied by the party Vice-Chairman Hon. David Murathe and Chairman Nelson Dzuya.

On May 11, Kalonzo gave the clearest hint yet that he was working on a post-election coalition agreement with the ruling party, stating, “Wiper will be ready to enter into a cooperation agreement with both Kanu and Jubilee when that time comes. We are open to that.”

His party is in a coalition agreement with Mr Raila Odinga’s Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), Musalia Mudavadi’s Amani National Congress (ANC) and Moses Wetang’ula’s Ford-Kenya, under the umbrella National Super Alliance (Nasa).
