Facebook has suspended Group Kenya, a popular page with over 2 million followers, after it was reported for violating the social media platform's community standards.
According to Facebook, the page was suspended due to the presence of 'objectionable content' that goes against its community standards.
Group Kenya has been active on Facebook for over 7 years, engaging its audience in online discussions and debates.
However, the page's content was reported to Facebook by some of its members, who claimed that it contained hate speech, violent, graphic content, adult nudity, and sexual activity.
Facebook has the right to remove posts and deactivate accounts that violate its guidelines and community standards.
When reached for comment, the Group Kenya administrator confirmed that the page had been suspended, but disputed the claims, stating that they did not accept the assessment.
Despite the suspension, the Group Kenya administrator reassured its audience that they would continue to provide relevant conversations, even the difficult ones, and promised to be back.
Facebook's community standards prohibit hate speech, violent, graphic content, adult nudity, and sexual activity, and the platform has the right to restrict or disable accounts that violate these standards.
