A 26-year-old woman, Leah Oloo, died under mysterious circumstances at her matrimonial home in Lanet, Bahati Constituency, Nakuru County, on June 11, 2020.

Her husband, Kennedy Oloo, a 29-year-old KDF man, initially reported that she had committed suicide, but a postmortem report later revealed that Leah was strangled using an 8-mm rope.

According to Nakuru County DCI chief Michael Mwenze, Leah and Kennedy were the only people in the house at the time of her death, and Kennedy was the first person to file a report that his wife had committed suicide.

However, the autopsy result indicated that someone was involved in Leah's death, and that a rope or string was used to strangle her.

It is alleged that Kennedy wanted to introduce his baby mama to Leah, who had been struggling to conceive, and that Leah refused to share their home with her.

Leah's relatives said she had told them that she made up her mind to split from her spouse due to unending domestic fights.

On June 11, shortly before her death, Leah sent her relatives messages saying her husband had locked her up to prevent her from leaving their Lanet house.

Leah's mother is appealing to the government to ensure that her daughter gets justice and is calling on well-wishers to help raise money to transport Leah's body home for burial.

Kennedy Oloo was arraigned at the Nakuru Law Courts on June 17, 2020, and was held in custody as investigations into Leah's death continue.
