On June 17, 2020, two employees of the Stanley Hotel in Nairobi found themselves in court, facing charges of intercepting and leaking CCTV footage of President Uhuru Kenyatta and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga's entourage on Kenyatta Avenue.
The two employees, Patrick Ambogo and Janet Magoma Ayongu, allegedly posted the footage without authority, sparking a legal battle.
According to reports, their lawyers, Danstan Omari and Apollo Mboya, are demanding witness statements from the President and former Prime Minister to confirm whether they are indeed the individuals captured in the CCTV footage walking along Kenyatta Avenue on the night of June 2, 2020.
