On June 17, 2020, police announced the arrest and charging of two ICT officers, Patrick Rading Ambogo and Janet Magoma Ayonga, for leaking a sensitive CCTV video of President Uhuru Kenyatta and opposition leader Raila Odinga strolling around Nairobi in the dead of night.
According to the charge sheet, the duo committed the crime on June 2, 2020, at around 8:20 pm, when they intercepted a security CCTV footage capturing the head of state's entourage along Kenyatta Avenue in Nairobi County.
Mr. Ambogo and Ms. Magoma are being charged with an unauthorized interception of a computer data contrary to section 17 (1) of the Computer Misuse and Cyber Crime Act.
