On June 16, 2020, a tragic incident occurred at the Lanet Barracks in Nakuru, where Kennedy Oloo, a Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) officer, was arrested on suspicion of murdering his wife, Leah Oloo.

According to an autopsy report, Leah's cause of death was suffocation by strangulation. The external examination also revealed that she had no head injuries but had a bruise on the neck and a groove on the lower neck.

Initially, Kennedy had alleged that his wife had taken her own life, but the postmortem results revealed otherwise, indicating that someone had used a string or wire to strangle her.

Leah had reportedly told her friends and family that she was leaving the three-year marriage, and before her death, she had made frantic calls to her loved ones after Kennedy locked her up in the house.

The family is now seeking justice for Leah, and burial plans are underway.
