On May 30, 2020, a gruesome discovery was made in Umoja II estate, where the dismembered body of a 36-year-old woman was found. The body parts were later discovered in different locations, with the head, arms, and legs found in Umoja, and the torso found along Landhies Road.
According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), the suspect, David Migwi Kariuki, was arrested on May 31, 2020, after a CCTV footage showed him walking out of Green Club along Latema Road in Nairobi CBD with the victim before she disappeared.
Nancy Wanja Njuguna, the landlady, and Nicholas Kimathi, the caretaker, have been charged with accessory to murder. They were released on a bond of Sh 200,000 or a cash bail of Sh 100,000 each.
The case will be mentioned in court on July 1, 2020, for further directions.
