A 35-year-old man from Sigaon village in Neisuit, Nakuru County, met his untimely death on June 15, 2020, after being stabbed with a piece of meat.
According to eyewitnesses, the deceased, known only as Rasta, had returned home at around 9 pm on the fateful day, having been released from work.
"He was a drunkard and would often complain of hunger," a neighbor revealed.
Kitur Sigei, the chairman of Neisuit Youth, stated that Rasta had been carrying a piece of meat wrapped in a newspaper when he arrived home.
"As he was trying to cut the meat, he started eating it before it was properly cooked," Sigei explained.
Neighbors who heard Rasta's cries for help rushed to his aid but found him in a critical condition.
Despite their efforts to save him, Rasta was pronounced dead at the scene.
His neighbors have since appealed to the county government to allow them to bury him in the area, citing the need for closure.
