Donald Trump's presidency has been marked by controversy and scandal, but one of the most significant threats to his legacy may come from within his own family.
According to a new book by Mary Trump, the president's niece, the Trump family is a dysfunctional and toxic unit, with a history of infighting and betrayal.
At the centre of the controversy is the fight over Fred Trump Sr's estate in 2000, in which Mary and her brother, Fred Trump III, claimed they were dealt with unfairly in their grandfather's will due to 'fraud and undue influence' by Donald and two of his siblings.
Donald's response to the lawsuit was to cut off medical insurance for Fred III's seriously ill infant son, who required round-the-clock care.
As Mary Trump writes in her book, 'Too Much and Never Enough', which is set to be published on 28 July, 'our family puts the 'fun' in dysfunctional'.
But the Trump family's problems run deeper than just a bitter family feud. According to a GQ profile of Donald Trump Jr, the president used to ask his children whether they trusted him, and when they replied 'of course', he would tell them off for not learning their lesson.
Perhaps he had a point: Mary's book marks the first time a Trump has written a critical tell-all about the president, but it may not be the last.
As Arwa Mahdawi notes in her Guardian column, 'it is always the quiet ones you have to watch out for – and you don't get much quieter than Melania Trump.'
Despite her taciturn nature, Melania is no dummy – nor is she a pushover. According to a new unauthorised biography of Melania, an enterprising Ivanka tried to rename the First Lady's Office the 'First Family Office', but Melania was having none of it.
She also put an end to Ivanka treating the White House as if it was her own home.
As one of Trump's friends was reportedly overheard saying, 'that woman! She will be the end of him.'
