June 16, 2020, marked a significant day for Tanasha Donna, the baby mama of Tanzanian musician Diamond Platnumz, as she converted to Islam. The news was revealed by KTN presenter Jamal Gaddafi, who shared a photo of Tanasha and himself breaking their fast during the Holy month of Ramadhan.
According to Jamal, Tanasha, now known as Aisha, joined Muslims in praying and fasting during the Holy month of Ramadhan. Jamal wrote on social media, 'First iftar with Tanasha Mungu amuongoze na akubali saum zake na wote walio funga leo Ameen 🙏🏽🙏🏽Btw her name is AISHA. Let’s support her in her new journey.'
Diamond Platnumz responded to the news during an interview with Wasafi TV, stating that he wasn't shocked by Tanasha's conversion. He revealed that he had paid Lavalava's manager Ricardo Domo to help Tanasha convert to Islam.
‘We were in Kigoma when she became a Muslim and I told Ricardo Momo (a manager at WCB) that if he pushes her to do it, I’ll pay him. He didn’t force her but he taught her. When she came to me to tell me that she wanted to change I told her to go and think about it and come tell me so she told me that she was sure,’ Diamond Platnumz said.
Diamond Platnumz also revealed that he was serious about marrying Tanasha but they couldn't agree on several things. He expressed his desire to marry Tanasha, stating, 'I wanted to marry Tanasha a hundred percent, one million percent. But maybe God has a plan, there are things why we didn’t get to the same page.'
