Malik Obama's Birth Certificate Fiasco: Sibling Rivalry Escalates ¶
On June 16, 2020, Malik Obama took to Twitter to share a birth certificate that allegedly proved his half-brother, Barack Obama, was born in Mombasa, Kenya, at the Coast General Hospital on August 4, 1961.
However, the document was quickly debunked by netizens as a fake, citing the presence of a South Australian seal and the incorrect indication that Kenya was a republic in 1961.
Auma Obama, Malik's sister, responded to the tweet, accusing Malik of being consumed by jealousy and bitterness due to Barack's success.
Exiled Kenyan lawyer Miguna Miguna also came to Barack's defense, asking Malik to stop supporting Donald Trump in ruining the former president's name.
Malik responded to Miguna's tweet, claiming that Barack had abandoned his family and humiliated them despite their love for him.
The feud between the two brothers dates back to the 1990s, with Malik previously expressing his hatred for Barack on social media.
Malik also took issue with Barack's acquisition of a KSh 1.5 billion house in 2019, which he claimed was a sign of his brother's wealth and success.
