Embakasi East MP Babu Owino has made a surprising revelation about his past habits, confessing to a fan that he has stopped taking alcohol and smoking weed.
Responding to a cheeky comment on his social media post, Babu Owino wrote, 'Niliwacha pombe na bangi' (I have stopped drinking and smoking weed).
However, this confession comes as a shock to many, especially considering his past run-in with the law after a club incident involving DJ Evolve.
As reported earlier, Babu Owino was involved in a shooting incident at a club, which left DJ Evolve seriously injured. The incident sparked widespread outrage, and Babu Owino was subsequently charged with attempted murder.
Although Babu Owino had previously claimed to have settled DJ Evolve's hospital bill, the disc jockey's father has disputed this claim, stating that the bill is still outstanding.
Speaking exclusively to Mpasho, DJ Evolve's father revealed that his son is still in the hospital and that the bill for his treatment is still too high, with Babu Owino having paid only KSh 5 million out of the total KSh 16 million.
According to DJ Evolve's father, his son is currently in the general ward but is unable to sit due to his injuries. He is also unable to talk when a pipe is inserted into his oesophagus to help him pass out mucus.
Despite Babu Owino's confession, it remains to be seen whether he has truly changed his ways or if this is just a publicity stunt.
