Musician Muigai Wa Njoroge Takes Aim at Uhuru's Government and Dynasties ¶
On June 16, 2020, renowned Kikuyu musician Muigai Wa Njoroge released a scathing song criticizing President Uhuru Kenyatta's government and dynasties for their alleged atrocities against the poor.
The song, titled 'Ino Migunda,' starts with heartbreaking scenes and cries from women who were evicted from the controversial Kariobangi sewerage land.
Using images and videos from the Jubilee campaigns, Muigai showcases how leaders spent millions of money on buying branded campaign materials such as caps and t-shirts but failed to provide basic necessities like face masks to the poor.
He also highlights the various unfavorable economic regimes that he has survived, with each one promising to change the lives of the populace but ultimately turning out to be lies.
Using images of the evicted residents of Ruai, Muigai finishes his song saying tears of the poor are a time bomb and can easily bring up drunkards who will squander the wealth of the dynasties.
