As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to spread, AAR Insurance Kenya has taken a significant step to ensure its customers stay safe and healthy at home. The company has partnered with e-health service providers MyDawa and CheckUps to deliver medication to clients at home, limiting trips to hospitals and pharmacy outlets.
Launched in 2017, MyDawa is an innovative e-health platform that enables patients to purchase a wide range of prescription and over-the-counter drugs online. CheckUps, an online medical teleconsultation service, also offers home delivery for prescription medicine.
According to AAR Insurance Kenya Managing Director, Nixon Shigoli, the partnership is part of the company's ongoing digital transformation strategy to deliver value to customers. 'We want to make it easier for all our clients to comply with the health guidelines especially those with chronic conditions who are at higher risk of contracting COVID-19,' said Mr. Shigoli.
Health experts caution that persons with underlying conditions like diabetes, cancer, hypertension, HIV/Aids, and other co-morbid illnesses are at a higher risk of being infected with COVID-19. To mitigate this risk, AAR Insurance Kenya is keen on the health and well-being of its customers and employees, and has put in place measures to help them stay safe during this time.
On June 16, 2020, AAR Insurance Kenya launched the 'Health at your Doorstep' service, which allows clients to order medication via their phone and have it delivered to their doorstep. The service is available to all AAR customers, with over 200,000 clients spread across the country.
