On June 16, 2020, the music industry was left in mourning with the passing of Erick Omondi Long Lilo, a renowned Benga artiste.

Long Lilo, 37, died at the Bondo Sub-county hospital in Siaya County after a long battle with cancer.

His wife Goretty Awino and family spokesperson Olima Gondi confirmed the sad news.

Long Lilo was a member of the legendary Nabi Kings Band and had a long career in music, singing alongside other notable artists like Osito Kalle.

He was known for his hit songs, including 'Goretti Awino', 'Were wuod Ogalo', 'Okoth Mang'ang'a', 'Kong'o shida', 'Anita Nyausonga', and 'Thomas Mwaya', among many others.

Long Lilo is survived by his wife and three children.
