Published on June 16, 2020, Joy Ohon, the talented young actress who played Almasi's sister in the popular kids show Machachari, has grown up and is now pursuing her own brand.
At 18 years old, Joy left Machachari when she was still young and has since been focusing on her personal projects. Her parents, Donald Ohon and gospel artiste Rosy Ohon, celebrated their 19th anniversary in February and have four daughters.
As reported by Mpasho.co.ke, Royal Media Services production manager Stanley Ngige explained that Machachari was scrapped off from Citizen TV in 2019 due to the characters outgrowing the show. He stated,
THE STORY CAME TO AN END. IT DIDN’T EVOLVE TO REMAIN RELEVANT TO THE TARGET AUDIENCE, AND THE BEST WE COULD DO IS DEVELOP THE STORY TO COME TO AN END SO THAT WE CAN START A NEW SHOW (‘JOHARI’) FOR THE SAME TARGET AUDIENCE.
The new show, Johari, was likely created to cater to the same target audience.
