On June 13, Athletics Kenya Youth Development Programme Chairman Barnaba Korir presented food donations to Jacob Krop at Chewoyet High School in West Pokot.
World 5000m championships finalist Jacob Krop has vowed to excel in senior competition after Covid-19 postponed the World Under-20 championships, where he was set to compete.
Speaking at the camp, Krop expressed his gratitude to Athletics Kenya and the Ministry of Sports for their support during the difficult period.
“I’m happy because the federation and the ministry has supported us since December. Some of us are really feeling the hit during this period. The food and the cash will keep us going,” Krop said.
With the Olympics shelved to next year, Krop hopes that the season will soon clear up, allowing him to focus on senior competitions.
“Now that there will be no under-20 this year, I had discussion with my management and we agreed to just focus on senior competitions. My focus now will be Diamond League in August,” he said.
