On June 15, 2020, the Kenya Tea Development Agency (KTDA) made the decision to halt the importation of fertiliser for smallholder tea farmers in Kenya.

This move was prompted by the disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, which had severely impacted the supply chain and logistics of fertiliser imports.

As a result, tea farmers who rely on fertiliser to maintain their tea plantations will have to find alternative solutions to ensure the health and productivity of their crops.
