The Nairobi government has announced plans to resume demolitions in 13 areas across the city that have been identified as part of land reserved for water and conservation purposes.
According to a recent video, the demolitions are aimed at reclaiming land that has been grabbed by individuals and businesses.
Residents who occupy these areas are advised to brace themselves for further demolitions, as the government seeks to restore the land to its original purpose.
As of June 15, 2020, the government had not provided a specific timeline for the demolitions, but residents are urged to take immediate action to avoid displacement.
