On June 15, 2020, Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe addressed concerns surrounding the spread of COVID-19 by asymptomatic patients.

Speaking during a press briefing, Kagwe stated that there was no scientific evidence to support the claim that asymptomatic patients were incapable of spreading the virus.

He emphasized the importance of adhering to public health guidelines, including social distancing and wearing masks, to prevent the spread of the disease.

Asymptomatic patients, who do not display any symptoms of the virus, can still transmit the disease to others, according to Kagwe.

The Health Cabinet Secretary's statement aimed to alleviate concerns and emphasize the need for continued vigilance in the fight against COVID-19.
