On June 15, 2020, a COVID-19 outbreak was reported at State House in Nairobi, with four staff members testing positive for the virus.
As a result, the presidential executive wing was temporarily closed off to prevent further spread of the disease.
State House spokesperson Kanze Dena Mararo confirmed the outbreak, stating that the affected staff members were being treated and that the situation was under control.
