On June 13, 2020, detectives in Kenya made a breakthrough in the murder of Rai Cement factory General Manager Chetan Vyas, arresting five suspects linked to the crime.

The suspects, aged between 24 and 38, were identified as Azim Salim, Osman Noor, Mohamed Shahid, Yacoob Wali, and Shabdin Ismail, a former security guard who has worked in Saudi Arabia and Qatar.

According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), the suspects are all loading supervisors at Rai Cement Company and are being questioned in connection with the murder.

"They are assisting in further investigations," the DCI said in a tweet, adding that a terrorism angle is being looked into.

The agency cautioned companies that employ foreign-trained personnel to always seek their clearance, which is done through Interpol.
