On Sunday evening, a devastating road accident occurred at Sagana bridge on the Makuyu-Makutano Highway in Kirinyaga County, claiming the lives of three people.
According to Mwea-West Police Commander Aden Alio, the deceased were the drivers of the two lorries and a turn boy, who all died instantly when the vehicles collided head-on and burst into flames.
Fortunately, the driver of a Toyota Probox vehicle that caught fire in the accident managed to escape unhurt, as confirmed by the police boss.
The bodies of the deceased were taken to Murang'a mortuary for further processing.
On June 14, 2020, a similar accident occurred at the same location, but no fatalities were reported.
