On June 15, 2020, the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) announced plans to resume vehicle inspection services, which had been temporarily suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
According to NTSA, the resumption of services will be done in phases, with the first phase already completed for taxis, pickups, and vans. Phase 2 will see all public service vehicles and heavy commercial vehicles undergo inspection.
NTSA has also adjusted bookings set to expire on May 30 to July 31, 2020, to accommodate the resumption of services.
Motor vehicle owners are encouraged to use the TIMS (Transport Integrated Management System) account to book for inspection, and NTSA will adhere to COVID-19 guidelines such as social distancing rules and provision of personal protective equipment to persons involved in the inspection.
