On June 14, 2020, Kenya Medical Supplies Agency (Kemsa) received a significant donation from UNAids to support people living with HIV in the country.

The Sh20 million worth of hygiene packs, consisting of bleach and soaps, will be distributed in collaboration with networks of people living with HIV, specifically National Empowerment of Network of People Living with HIV (Nephak) and Women Fighting Aids in Kenya (Wofak).

Kemsa Chief Executive Officer Jonah Manjari emphasized the agency's commitment to collaborating with organizations like UNAids to ensure the availability of quality and affordable health products for vulnerable groups.

“Kemsa will continue to partner with like-minded organizations to ensure that people with HIV and Aids have adequate supplies,” he said.

UNAids Country Director Kenya Medhin Tsehaiu commended the government for taking the disease seriously and putting in place measures to prevent its spread.
