As of June 14, 2020, motorists in Kenya will face a price hike for petrol but enjoy a decrease in the cost of diesel and kerosene.
The Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) has announced the new prices, citing a 31.54% increase in the average landed cost of imported super petrol in May 2020.
According to EPRA, the price of a litre of petrol in Nairobi will now retail at Sh89.10, while diesel will cost Sh74.57 and kerosene Sh62.46.
The changes in fuel prices are attributed to the global oil price drop and reduced market demand due to the coronavirus pandemic.
