Isiolo Governor Mohamed Kuti is facing allegations of embezzling Sh14 million meant for COVID-19 relief efforts in Kenya.

According to a report by Kenyanbulletin.com on April 30th, 2020, the governor transferred ICU equipment from Galaxy Private Hospital to Isiolo Teaching and Referral Hospital for photo opportunities.

The move was allegedly a ploy to gain public sympathy and attention during the pandemic, but it ultimately resulted in the county incurring an expenditure of Sh14 million.

As reported by Kenyanbulletin.com, the governor 'shamelessly launched the beds and secretly returned them back to the private facility after doing the launch, and as we speak there is no ICU unit at Isiolo referral hospital.'

A video shared on Twitter on June 14, 2020, has exposed the governor's actions, sparking outrage and calls for accountability.
