On June 13, 2020, Kenya recorded 152 new Covid-19 cases out of 3,503 samples tested in the past 24 hours.
According to Health Chief Administrative Secretary Dr Rashid Aman, the virus was spreading fast with local transmissions accounting for 89% of the positive cases recorded so far.
Dr Aman emphasized the importance of individual responsibility in preventing the spread of the virus.
Of the new cases, 116 were males and 36 females, with ages ranging from two years old to 65 years.
Unfortunately, four more patients succumbed to the virus, raising the death toll to 100. 57 more patients were discharged from hospital.
The virus has affected 38 counties, with Nairobi leading the cases at 70, followed by Mombasa with 41 cases.
