On June 13, 2020, Kenya's Health Chief Administrative Secretary Rashid Aman announced that the country had recorded 152 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours.
The new cases bring the total national tally of confirmed cases to 3,457, with all 152 cases being Kenyans.
Of the new cases, 116 are male while 36 are female, aged between two and 65 years.
These cases were identified from 3,503 samples tested, bringing the total samples tested in the country to 112,171.
On a positive note, Dr. Aman announced that 57 people were discharged from hospital, bringing the total number of those who have recovered from the virus to 1,221.
Unfortunately, four people succumbed to the virus, taking the national death toll to 100.
Dr. Aman urged Kenyans to observe containment measures put in place by the government and socialise less to reduce the chances of contracting the virus.
He also announced that 38 out of the country's 47 counties have now reported cases of Covid-19.
The new cases were reported in various counties, with Nairobi having 70 cases, Mombasa having 41 cases, and other counties reporting smaller numbers of cases.
