Kenya Railways Corporation has announced that the Nairobi Commuter Rail Service will return to normal operations from Monday, June 15th, 2020, following the revision of the government's curfew hours.

As a measure to curb the spread of COVID-19, the corporation implemented several measures in March, including a daily curfew from 7pm to 5am. However, with the revision of the curfew hours to 9pm to 4am, the corporation has decided to revert to the normal schedule.

According to Kenya Railways, all commuter trains will operate on their normal schedule from Monday, June 15th, 2020. The corporation had previously revised the schedule to cater to the new curfew hours.

Passengers can expect to see the normal schedule in operation from Monday, with all trains operating as usual. The Nairobi Railway Station has also taken steps to help prevent the spread of the virus, including providing handwashing facilities and sanitizers at the station and inside the trains.

“Kenya Railways wishes to inform our customers that effective Monday 15th June 2020, all commuter trains will revert to the normal schedule; following the revision of the daily national curfew hours from 7:00 p.m. – 5:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. – 4:00 a.m,” KR said. https://t.co/jFI80ZEqtb — Kenya Railways (@KenyaRailways_) June 12, 2020
