On June 13, 2020, a gruesome murder shook the Matungulu area in Machakos County, Kenya.
Police received a distress call from neighbours near Joska Police Station, following a commotion at a house.
A police officer who was among the first responders described the scene as 'very bad', with the woman's body soaked in blood on the bed and the boy's head chopped off.
The officer added that the man had tried to conceal the murder, with the boy's torso found in a jerican and the head next to it.
A murder weapon was also found at the scene, and the suspect was taken into custody while the bodies were taken to the mortuary.
Investigations have commenced to determine the motive behind the brutal attack.
