On June 12, 2020, police in Joska, Machakos County, arrested Jared Ochichi Onsongo, 33, for the brutal murder of his wife and son.
According to a police report filed at KBC Police station under OB number 19/12/06/2020, the bodies of Jackline Jared, 26, and their 11-year-old son Amos were found in a shocking scene.
Ms. Jackline was found lying naked on her bed with a deep cut on her face, while the body of the minor was discovered inside a 50-litre black jerrican with the head chopped.
The police suspect domestic wrangles may have led to the brutal murder, but the exact circumstances remain unclear.
The bodies were taken to Kang'undo Level 4 hospital for autopsy.
