On June 11, 2020, a violent altercation between a police officer and a civilian in Kapsoit, Kericho County, ended with the officer being arrested.

Paul Kipkorir, a police constable from Bungoma County, was accused of stabbing Patrick Kiptoo, a 30-year-old guard at Capital Enterprises.

The incident occurred after the officer, Kipkorir, asked Kiptoo about the whereabouts of a woman named Mercy, sparking an argument between the two.

According to a police report filed at Polpoat Kapsoit, members of the public managed to separate the two, but not before Kipkorir stabbed Kiptoo in the right side of the chest with a sharp object.

Kiptoo was rushed to Kericho nursing hospital, while Kipkorir was taken into custody as investigations continue.
