On June 13, 2020, a police helicopter carrying six occupants crashed in Kithoka Forest, Kaithe area, North Imenti Constituency, Meru County.
Fortunately, only minor injuries were reported, and no fatalities occurred. The injured were taken to a nearby hospital, according to Meru County Police Commander Patrick Lumumba.
The helicopter was headed to Sololo in Marsabit County when the accident occurred, but the cause of the crash remains unclear.
At the time of the incident, police had arrived at the scene to control a crowd of curious onlookers who had gathered in Kithoka Forest.
