Kenya Police Chopper Crashes in Meru

A Kenya Police chopper, AgustaWestland AW119, registration 5Y NPW, crashed in Kaithe Kithoka area, Meru county, on June 13, 2020, while ferrying a security team to Marsabit for a meeting.

According to reports, the chopper developed mechanical problems and crashed in banana plantations.

Police spokesman Charles Owino confirmed that there were six occupants on board, including two pilots and four passengers from the Eastern Security committee.

The injured passengers were rushed to Meru Level 5 hospital.
