Meru Business Community Donates Food to Covid-19 Affected Residents in Isiolo

On June 12, 2020, the Meru business community in Isiolo County made a generous donation of 1.5 tons of cereals to support residents affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Speaking at the handover ceremony, Meru business community chairman Mr. Kimaita Machuguma explained that the donation aimed to cushion the needy who were struggling due to the pandemic's challenges.

The donated food items included maize, maize flour, and cooking oil, which were handed over to the County Emergency Response committee on Covid-19.

Mr. Machuguma urged more volunteers to come forward and support the needy during this difficult time.

Isiolo Deputy County Commissioner Mr. Mohamed Maow received the donation on behalf of the government, assuring residents that relief distribution would continue as usual.

Mr. Maow also appealed to local politicians to channel their donations through the County emergency committee to avoid internal conflicts.

Isiolo County Secretary Dr. Ahmed Galgallo represented Governor Dr. Mohamed Kuti, commending the Meru community for their generosity and urging local business communities to contribute to the relief efforts.
