Kenya's COVID-19 cases have reached 3305, with 90 new cases reported in the last 24 hours, including an 80-year-old individual.

According to Health Chief Administrative Secretary Rashid Aman, the new cases are from 2419 samples, with 62 males and 28 females testing positive.

As of June 12, 2020, a total of 108666 samples have been tested since the Ministry of Health began the testing process.

Among the new cases, 36 are from Nairobi, 34 from Mombasa, 12 from Busia, 3 from Uasin Gishu, and 1 each from Kilifi, Kisumu, Meru, and Turkana.

The Kibra area remains a hot spot, with 12 persons testing positive, while Makadara and Mathare in Nairobi accounted for 5 persons each.

Director of Public Health Dr. Francis Kuria emphasized the importance of not stigmatizing individuals who have recovered from the disease, stating that about 208 persons have been released from home care and are safe.

Health officials urge the public to observe fundamental measures to break the chain of transmission, including hand washing, social distancing, wearing masks, avoiding crowds, and staying at home.
