On Friday, the Political Parties Dispute Tribunal (PPDT) reaffirmed Bungoma Senator Moses Wetang'ula as the bonafide leader of Ford-Kenya, dealing a blow to the Wafula Wamunyinyi-led faction.
During a sitting in Nairobi, PPDT ruled that the Wamunyinyi faction will face the disciplinary committee on Tuesday.
Lawyer Ben Millimo, representing Wetang'ula and Ford-Kenya, stated, "The Wamunyinyi faction will face the disciplinary committee from Tuesday."
Earlier, the Registrar of Political Parties (RPP) Ann Nderitu had published a notice in the Kenya Gazette seeking views on the proposed replacement of Wetang'ula with Kanduyi MP Wafula Wamunyinyi as party leader.
However, Nderitu has since recalled the notice, citing a resolution to have the matter resolved internally.
Three PPDT members, Desma Nungo, Milly Lwanga, and Dr. Adelaide Mbithi, terminated the dispute filed by Ford-Kenya lawyer Eunice Lumallas after the warring factions agreed to resolve the matter internally.
