On June 10, 2020, Ford Kenya moved to the Political Parties Dispute Tribunal after the National Executive Council purported to dethrone Moses Wetang'ula from his seat on May 31, 2020.
The Registrar of Political Parties had recalled a Gazette notice effecting party changes that had recognized Wafula Wamunyinyi as the party leader.
During a sitting in Nairobi on Friday, the Political Parties Dispute Tribunal said that the Wafula Wamunyinyi-led faction will face the disciplinary committee on Tuesday.
Wetang'ula was reaffirmed as the bonafide party leader by the tribunal.
Meanwhile, the prosecution has withdrawn incitement charges against former Kakamega Senator Bonny Khalwale.
Khalwale was to be arraigned to answer to incitement charges and engaging in a prohibited gathering in Kakamega, contrary to the government's directive during the COVID-19 pandemic.
He deposited Sh100,000 police bail to secure his release.
