Kenya's Finance Cabinet Secretary, Ukur Yatani, has been at the helm of the country's finances since 2020, overseeing a budget of Sh. 3.2 trillion for the fiscal year starting July 1, 2020.

As the former Marsabit Governor and Labour Cabinet Secretary, Yatani's rise to power has been nothing short of remarkable. However, what remains a mystery is the source of his Sh. 295 million wealth, as declared in his parliamentary wealth declaration reports.

According to the reports, Yatani's wealth is largely attributed to his investments in transport businesses, real estate, and moveable assets. He has also made a considerable chunk of money from his livestock ventures.

As a cabinet secretary, Yatani takes home a monthly salary of Sh. 646,000, a significant decrease from his previous salary of Sh. 924,000 per month before the coronavirus pandemic hit Kenya.
