On June 12, 2020, the Political Parties Dispute Tribunal (PPDT) reaffirmed Bungoma Senator Moses Wetang'ula as the bonafide leader of Ford-Kenya.

During a sitting in Nairobi, the PPDT ruled that the Wafula Wamunyinyi-led faction would face the disciplinary committee on Tuesday.

Lawyer Ben Millimo, representing Wetang'ula and Ford-Kenya, stated, “The Wamunyinyi faction will face the disciplinary committee from Tuesday.”

Earlier, the Registrar of Political Parties (RPP) Ann Nderitu had published a notice in the Kenya Gazette seeking views on the proposed replacement of Wetang'ula with Kanduyi MP Wafula Wamunyinyi as the party leader.

However, Nderitu later recalled the notice, citing a resolution by the warring factions to resolve the matter internally.
