Published on June 12, 2020, ChildFund Kenya has redirected Ksh64 million to support COVID-19 response efforts in the country.
The organization has disbursed the funds in the form of cash transfers to 18,480 vulnerable households across 26 counties, enabling families to access essential items such as hygiene kits and meet their basic nutritional needs.
Between March and May 2020, ChildFund Kenya utilized its emergency response funds to respond to the emerging COVID-19 needs of vulnerable households in the communities it serves.
ChildFund Country Director Chege Ngugi emphasized the organization's commitment to assisting vulnerable families, stating, "We are committed to assisting vulnerable families, and we shall continue to do so on a rolling window basis."
The funds have been channeled through 13 implementing partners, including Nawiri Children’s Program, Samburu Children’s Program, and Metropolitan Child Care Organization, among others.
Ngugi appealed to more partners and individuals to come on board in transforming the lives of vulnerable families.
