COVID-19: 121 New Cases, 3 Fatalities, and 44 Recoveries in Kenya

On June 11, 2020, Kenya's Health Ministry announced 121 new positive cases of COVID-19, raising the national tally to 3,215.

According to Health Chief Administrative Secretary Mutahi Kagwe, the new cases were reported after 3,291 samples were tested in the last 24 hours.

CS Kagwe also revealed that 44 more patients have been discharged in various hospitals after recovering from the respiratory disease, bringing the total number of recoveries to 1,092.

However, the Ministry also reported three more fatalities, bringing the total number of deaths to 92.

The new cases were distributed as follows: Nairobi (49), Busia (37), Mombasa (20), Kajiado (5), Migori (4), Kiambu and Kilifi (2 cases each), and Nyeri and Murang'a (1 case each).

Notably, all cases from Busia are truck drivers at Malaba point.

The Ministry also reported that all three fatalities are from various hospitals in Nairobi.

CS Kagwe appealed to Kenyans to work together to contain the spread of coronavirus, saying, 'We appeal to Kenyans to hold each other's hand and work together to contain the spread of coronavirus.'
